The Partnership

In fall 2007, Ginghamsburg Church adopted Belle Haven Elementary School in Dayton as our partner school. Our goal is to partner with Belle Haven staff, families and students as we together equip children for an incredible future. Belle Haven, which is part of the Dayton Public School System, is located at 4401 Free Pike in northwest Dayton.

News from Belle Haven

Kudos to the kids! Belle Haven children’s Change for Change project netted $592.80 for the children, women and men of Darfur, Sudan, as part of The Sudan Project.

Events

Book Collection...

Ft. McKinley United Methodist Church at 3721 West Siebenthaler Avenue in Dayton is collecting new or slightly used books for the children of Belle Haven school. If you have books you would like to donate, please contact the church at 937.277.7484. Thank you for your generosity!

Serving Opportunities

Teacher Aides (prefer ongoing commitment for certain hours on certain days)
- Make copies
- Grade papers
- Organize room
- Make phone calls
- Provide basic reading and math skills
- Anything else the teacher needs

Field Trip Chaperones (as needed – once a week)
Teach Classes
- Life skills (sewing, cooking, etiquette, etc.)
- Music (band and choir)
- Media (computer literacy and graphic design)
Belle Haven Special Events (Periodically as needed)
- Kids' Activities
- Food
- Greeting
- Set-up, tear down
- Security/Parking
- Bus Drivers
