East Dayton
God’s doing a new thing in East Dayton! Come serve and help take down the old and make room for the new: demo, paint and clean up our neighborhood.

Where: New Hope UMC, 512 Xenia Ave, Dayton
When: 9am-12:30pm
What: wall demolition, debris removal, exterior painting, exterior landscaping, community cleanup, writing notes, recovery home clean up and repairs
Please bring: gloves, masks, sledge hammers, trash bags, gardening and lawn care tools, rakes, shovels, brooms, dust pans, grabbers, note cards, envelopes, pens and stickers
BONUS EVENT! Come back and celebrate your efforts during the church’s Fall Trunk or Treat Festival from 2-4pm.


Neighbors Helping Neighbors – Fort McKinley Neighborhood
Bring your gloves, your rakes and your smile as we love Fort McKinley neighbors on purpose through tidying up the neighborhood. Lunch will be provided afterwards!

Where: Fort McKinley Church, 3721 W Siebenthaler Ave, Dayton
When: 8am-12pm

Snacks & Smiles – Fort McKinley Kroger
Come out to Kroger on Siebenthaler Avenue to hand out snacks to folks who will enjoy a friendly conversation along with some sweet treats. Lunch will be provided afterwards!  

Where: Fort McKinley Church, 3721 W Siebenthaler Ave, Dayton (we’ll leave for Kroger from there)

Keeping Our City Beautiful – Trotwood
Enlisting a small army of people to clean up, rake and renew our city.

Where: The Point, 506 E Main St, Trotwood
When: 8am-12pm
What: pick up trash, trim shrubs, pull weeds
Provided: Grabbers, trash bags and gloves will be provided.
Please bring: Brooms, dust pans, gloves, gardening and lawn care tools
BONUS EVENT! Celebrate afterwards with a cookout at Broadmoor Neighborhood, 400 Burman Avenue from 12-4pm. Bring lawn chairs, yard games, a dish to share and your warm smile!

 

Clubhouse After-school Program – Troy & Trotwood
Help revitalize space in Clubhouse locations. These special places are used each week to develop a new generation of teen leaders, who in turn help kids grow. Paint, repair and spruce up.
 
Where: Garden Manor Apartments, 505 Crescent Dr, Troy
When: 8:30am-12pm
What: paint the community room, install shelving, general cleaning, wash windows
Please bring: paint rollers, roller covers, trim brushes, hammers, screw drivers, window cleaning supplies, lots and lots of paper towels

Where: Trotwood Clubhouse, 502 E Main St, Trotwood
When: 8:30am-12pm
What: painting benches and bathrooms, carpet cleaning, install shelving, general cleaning, wash windows

More Than Carpenters – Miami County
Join this ministry team of handy folk as they help our more seasoned neighbors with fall yard work.

Where: Ginghamsburg Church, 6759 S County Rd 25A, Tipp City
When: 8:30am-12pm
What: exterior trash, debris and wood clean up   
Please bring: rakes, gloves, trash bags, grabbers, trimmers


Fall Fest Fun with Kids – Miami County Park District
Serve with children’s games and other fun at this outdoor fall fest.

Where: Miami County Park District, 2645 E St Rt 41, Troy
When: 11:45am-2:30pm
What: help with wagon rides, pumpkin patch, corn maze, children’s games, parking
Please bring: a water bottle, dress for the weather


Giving a Head Start to Head Start – Troy & Piqua
At both Head Start locations, enjoy outdoor paint touch-ups and projects or light landscaping adventures. Have an artistic bent? The Piqua Kids Learning Place would love a new mural!

Where:  Piqua Kids Learning Place, 285 RM Davis Parkway, Piqua
When: 9am-12pm
What: plant flowers, trim and clear out bushes, pull weeds, paint playground equipment, paint mural
