It is possible if you do not log out to just come to the online
community or wherever you want to go on the GUM site without having to log back in again. I don't mind my email being "out there" because it's not the main email account and I can always block things that come in if it's problematic. I think you'll find a lot more dialogue here on the online community. Have a blessed day. Michaiah PS If you put your email address on the info page for online Community, it doesn't automatically go anywhere but it enables you to give yourself a password so your name will appear on posts that you have or topics you start.

In some ways this is similar to a blog, in other ways it is not. If you have entered your email address into your profile someone can get your email address by clicking on your profile link on the site.

I don't think there's any way around this. You might consider getting a free email account from google or yahoo or something and using it just for purposes of logins. You could use it on any blog or forum and never give out your "real" email address. You wouldn't even need to check mail at the other address, just use it as a validation point.

As for being on the Internet, it's nearly impossible, if not truely impossible, to stay off the Internet. Evey phone listing is on the Internet. Public records such as home ownership, traffic tickets, etc. are on the Internet. Etc. Etc. etc.

Of course you want to be careful what you say. I'd hope you're careful in what you say all the time regardless of the way you communicate.

What up? How ya been? I am one who could probably be a bit more careful about what I say. I don't want to offend the weaker brother or use my freedom as a stumbling block. I don't worry too much about having an identity on the Internet. I'm a real person and real people have an identity. I don't post something that I would be ashamed for the world to know because this IS a public forum. I'm not super-human so I'm not trying to fool anyone. I didn't commit any crimes that I'm trying to hide from the law. I don't have anyone trying to hunt me down and hurt me so I don't hide from them either. There are a lot of risks that are much bigger than the Internet out there. I've got to live a life.

The hat would more than likely make people think you had committed at least a few crimes.

I'm sure I've already said some pre-wisdom stuff before I knew that all my stuff was public..hind sight's 20/20 or at least most of the time.

You can't see my shoes in that picture but they're boots. I've worn boots since Jr. High school. Recently however I've had to start wearing tennis shoes for the first time in my life because of an accident a few years ago that left my foot damaged. The injury doesn't like the boots so much but I still wear the boots to the office.
