Hey there Lisa. I feel pretty good. I only ended up taking three pain pills the entire time and even then I didn't feel I needed them. Everyone kept telling me to take them BEFORE the pain gets bad so I did. It either worked, or I took three pills I didn't need. At any rate, no pain.

I am having some problems this week. For some reason it's swelling up. It looks like I have a tennis ball stuck in my throat. It's pressing against my throat constantly which makes me cough. As long as I can still breath I don't think it's really anything to worry about but I thought I might call the doctor and have him eyeball it once just to be sure.

That sounds like a good idea. If it's pressing enough to make you cough then there is probably more swelling than you think. Was Bonnie "laying" hands on your throat to "pray" perhaps???

Is that what they meant when they asked if my airway was being blocked?

I called the Dr. office. The nurse seemed more annoyed than anything. Didn't think there's any reason for me to see the Dr. as long as I can breath fine.

My employees on the other hand are afraid it's going to burst like a large zit. They want me to go to the Dr. no matter what the nurse says. Perhaps they've been to nursing school? <g>

It's really not so bad. It's not as broad as it was yesteday. Now it looks more like a golf ball just under my skin rather than like a tennis ball in my throat.

The coughing... well I've had that since Christmas day due to the growth on my thyroid. I'm starting to get used to it.

Still alive, yes. Having a bit of a set back. Somehow I picked up five infections since the surgery. None of them in the surgical area. Things like sinus, ears, strep, etc. It's been a long weekend. I think the last time I missed this much work was 20 years ago.

I've also lost my voice since last Friday. So far there's no sign of return. If I work at it I can get a whisper together but if I try for more than just a few sentences my throat hurts and I start coughing uncontrollably. I also had a problem in that I couldn't lay down without instantly getting sick. Fortunatly that has passed now and I got nearly a full night's sleep last night.

The golf ball sized swelling is gone now. There's just barely a buldge and the bruising is starting to fade too.

There... more about Jerry than anyone probably wants to know.

Sorry to hear your having such a hard time. Your in my prayers. Lisa

While I'm having some problems it's really not so bad. I just hope we can find an antibiotic that works.
