Does anyone know how Jerry's doing?

Oh Oh. I do. I do. <g>

I'm doing very well. They removed 1/2 of my thyroid on Tuesday. They were pretty late getting me into the OR and I was the last one out for the day. I think they were eager to get me out. "Oh you're puking? Take that bucket with you." "Oh you can't walk yet? Sit in this wheelchair and we'll push you to the door."

Actually other than they're being in hurry to get rid of me (who isn't?) it went VERY well. I've had nearly zero pain. I stayed off work Wednesday but I went to work today. I didn't make it all day before I ran out of steam but I made it until 3:30. Not too bad considering they'd told me to expect to be off for up to two weeks.

The freeze test came back negative (which is good) and the Dr. said it looked good to him. We should hear about the biopsy soon but I'm expecting good news since everything looked good to the Dr.

There was one other minor mishap once I got home. They used glue to hold my skin together instead of stitches on the top layer. That's all good and all, but they got it in my beard. As a result I've had to shave my beard off.

I'm sure it will grow back quickly but the women in my life keep looking at me and just laughing. I also seem to have grown a second chin that wasn't there in high school.

This isn't the first time I've shaved the beard since high school. I used to have to shave when I'd attend the state fire school for training but I've only been beardless a few times in 27 years. Never for more than a couple of days before growing it back.

The face I see in the mirror makes ME jump.

Oh, you HAVE to post a new picture Jerry...and ladies I've had an epiphany...I just need to grow a beard and hide my double chin! Brad shaved his mustache off once Jerry when Eli was about 4 and Eli cried he was so scared. What happened to DADDY???

My kids were terrified every time I dyed my hair. I have underactive thyroid and have been on Armour Thyroid for about 16 years. I've never had anything removed...yet. Well I'm glad all is well. Have a great weekend.
