My daughter is well and things are moving along and it's just a daily thing with helping her stay on task.
Some 22 years ago in the month of August, I gave a baby boy up for adoption and recently have been in contact with his parents. It looks as though I am going to get to touch the face of the son, Hayden, who was lost to me and there are no words to describe my joy. The emotional pain was excruciating at times and I wasn't sure if he was alive or if he was ok and now I know he is alive and well and I will more than likely see him within the next couple of months. I'm putting his picture up in place of mine so you can share in my joy. M

Rachel is doing well. We've got Jodi Johnston Pawell coming Thursday. She is someone who authored the book, "The Parent's Toolshop". My husband Ken and I took her classes a couple of times when our kids were younger. She's going to do some targeting of specific issues with communication and follow- through with boundaries. Role playing is another tool she uses. I am so looking forward to this hour with Rachel. We'll probably have one or two sessions with Jodi and then we're going to see a counselor at Christian Counseling Associates in Huber because we had a couple of referrals and they are covered under our insurance. There's someone ther who is fairly effective I guess.
Rachel is signed on with A Beka for the rest of her Senior classes here at home. She'll have her diploma by early December if all goes well. High School is so difficult on a lot of these kids. She wanted to look tough and not feel that she had been sheltered. Anyway....Praising God in a trial was just something I could never do and I am so happy. Now I am able to. It is such a blessing because most of life is a trial.
Ken is beautiful and so helpful and supportive. Love relationships constrain in ways but in other ways they release. I am released to have an intimate relationship, released to have the protection of true companionship. No one would ever be there for me like Ken. I am strong with Christ but when I need a shoulder, he is there. Jesus with skin on.
I am leary of compromise for the sake of unity. I am leary of it looking like it's the thing to do when it isn't. I am giving this fear to God and letting Him deal with it because I think I realized, I'm not God and He doesn't expect me to be. He just expects me to be me....in Him.
May He protect us when we are vulnerable. May He give us wisdom when we are confused. May He give us love for all those He places in our lives. Amen
