Hey,
I was just thinking tonight about the subject of home and sojourning. How we have sometimes many places we think of as Home(our parents home, our own home, dear friends' homes, our church or if we've had to move a lot maybe we think of a couple or a few as our second home or home away from home, a small group or house church or even a vacation place we escape to for reflection and a time of quiet).
We know that Heaven is our ultimate home and that we are only sojourners here on this earth. How wonderful it is to be able to have a sense of home and belonging even while here.
My attitude has not been the best today and I know God still loves me but the hurtful words I've said or the good words I didn't say still have their effect and as sojourners, we get the beautiful option of being repentant and making things right and God heals. What a wonderful thing: forgiveness, joy, love, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
To partake of these even though we are not were we will be in Heaven is a lovely and transforming experience.
It takes my Mom so long to eat because she chews and chews for such a long time. She has no teeth and when she eats it looks like bitter beer face and I feel so bad for her. I am trying to identify foods that go down easily for her. My husband was joking and said, "How 'bout some peanut brittle Gram?" She didn't hear him but my daughter and I did and couldn't help but laugh a little. It feels so manic-depressive with the illness because it's so tragic and sad and yet you do have moments that are comical. And it's amazing the people God brings into your life. Some for short periods of time, some for longer periods of time, and some for life and beyond. Some for a little while and then beyond. I am wondering if there is some specific place on this forum or elsewhere on the website to post biblically-related questions. If someone who reads this knows, could you answer? Thanks, Michaiah
