Brian Brown
Teaching Pastor
Reverend Brian Brown became the newest member of the Ginghamsburg pastoral staff as of August 2008. As Ginghamsburg’s teaching pastor, Brian leads a large group Bible study on Wednesday nights called “Bible with Brian,” taking hundreds of participants each week deeper into God’s word following the weekly themes of the Ginghamsburg Transformation Journal. Brian also shares the responsibility with Senior Pastor Mike Slaughter of bringing God’s word to the Ginghamsburg Church family in weekly worship celebrations. Brian, an ordained Elder within the United Methodist Church, holds a Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology. Prior to entering full-time ministry, Brian worked in various environmental services account management roles and taught science and math on the high school and college level. Most recently, Brian served within the United Methodist Virginia Conference as senior pastor of Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Alexandria, Virginia and also served on the Virginia Conference’s Board of Pensions & Benefits and the Annual Conference Planning Committee.
