Step Up to Quality - what is it and why is it important?
Step up to Quality is a state program that requires centers to go beyond the minimum licensing standards (up to five stars are available). These programs demonstrate a higher level of quality in a variety of ways. At Ginghamsburg Christian Preschool and Childcare we demonstrate our commitment to quality so that our students may develop self-confidence, Christian values, social, emotional and academic skills as well as a love of learning.
We require teachers to stay abreast of the latest knowledge, research and techniques to support our students’ progress. Our teachers must complete 20 hours of specialized training every two years. Other required classes that must be renewed every 2 or 3 years are: Child and Infant CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse and Neglect and Communicable Diseases.
Teachers plan learning activities that meet your child’s individual needs using the Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards. In addition, our ESSENTIALS Preschool Curriculum integrates faith in Jesus Christ with the content and process of learning. We encourage our teachers to build meaningful relationships with families and communities, which augments your child’s well-being.
Because we are committed to ongoing improvement and achievement, we will continue to reach for the highest Step up to Quality Star!
