This weekend in worship we continue The Road Less Traveled, our Lenten worship series at the Main Campus and Fort McKinley. Let's keep praying for the people in our circle of friendship we identified last weekend in our bulletin whom we need to bring with us to hear a message of hope this Easter. Also, read on for additional opportunities to connect and grow with others in Christ at Ginghamsburg.
We welcome Pastor Mike back to the Main Campus this week as we continue our Lenten worship series. The narrow way - are you on it? Jesus challenged the status quo, calling out the religious among us to move beyond mere belief to active faith... recalculating our direction on The Road Less Traveled. Or, join Pastor Brian Brown at the Fort as he reminds us that our lives are a series of decisions - choices we make each and every day that ultimately lead to life - or death. In this season of Lent we want to make the most of the opportunity to live life well - making Healthy Choices on The Road Less Traveled. The Fort is located at 3721 W. Siebenthaler in Dayton. Away? Catch the message online, or purchase a CD $2/DVD $5 at the bookstore.
Ginghamsburg is partnering with Omega Baptist Church in Dayton for a special International Women's Day Celebration this Monday, March 8, featuring two events:
Communitas is the very spirit of community...going deeper in meaningful relationship with others.
Join us for the perfect opportunity to connect into friendship and community at Ginghamsburg! Communitas is a safe place for togetherness and authentic relationships with others. We'll meet new friends, enjoy great coffee along with tasty food at modest prices and experience purposeful conversation together. We look forward to seeing you next Saturday, March 13, following the 5 p.m. worship celebration at the Common Grounds Cafe located in the Avenue. It's the perfect place for Communitas!
You're invited to get active in a cell group with the upcoming CellStart series. Learn about and experience small group fellowshp, Bible study, prayer and have the opportunity at the end of the four weeks to form, start or join an active cell group. The weekly sermon "message map" and "group impact questions" will be our guide, so bring that along with you. It begins this Sunday, March 7, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Avenue 506. Kevin Applegate, our cell group ministry director, will lead this series. Questions? Contact Kevin at 937.667.1069 ext. 303 or email kapplegate(at)ginghamsburg.org.
If you aren't already breaking out the walking or running shoes, now's the time to get started. One of New Path's largest (and healthiest) fundraisers of the year is just around the corner - the annual New Path 5K Run/Walk on Ginghamsburg's Main Campus. This popular event is scheduled for Saturday, April 24, with the theme of "Change is Happening!" The day will also feature this year a special course tailored for children ages 4 to 9-although children of all ages are invited to be a part. Watch your bulletin for upcoming details, and let's get moving!
It's good to be back home and to be speaking this weekend at Ginghamsburg. As a matter of fact I will be speaking here for the next five weekends. I have been busy on the road for most of February. Last week I spoke ten times to pastors and church leaders in The Republic of Korea. Ginghamsburg's mission focus has inspired an international event on April 24-25 called Change the World Day. 11 million United Methodists will make the commitment to serve outside the walls of their church buildings in the communities where they are located...
