If you have a special need for prayer, please phone the church office at .937. 667.1069 and report your request to the receptionist. You may ask that your prayer need be reported to one of three sources: the prayer chain, intended for emergency needs; you are invited to a prayer meeting at the Discipleship Center in room #200 every Friday at 7 a.m; or the entire congregation, by listing the prayer request in the bulletin. You can also join the Local Ginghamsburg Communities and post to the Prayer Community or post your prayer on the website to be prayed for by anyone that visits the Prayer Exchange. Note: Prayers posted on the Prayer Exchange also get submitted to the Prayer Community but do not necessarily get forwarded to the prayer chain, the intercessory prayer group, or get listed in the bulletin. A Ginghamsburg Lay Pastor regularly monitors the on-line prayer requests and ensures that prayer is offered for the request, and often responds to the request if needed.
If you or someone you know is in need of pastoral care, please let us know by calling the office of Care and Counseling at 937.667.4678. A pastor may not always be available, but we will see that one of our trained caregivers responds as quickly as possible. Several days advance notice of hospital stays is especially helpful whenever possible.
Ginghamsburg Church offers a variety of support and recovery groups that focus on specific issues. Support groups provide encouragement to persons dealing with a common situation, such as divorce recovery, lifestyle health or parenting difficult children. Our recovery groups focus on overcoming the effects of past experiences, such as co-dependency, sexual abuse, eating disorders and addictions. See the listing of current support/health groups or call the Care and Counseling office at 937.667.4678.
Another resource is the Dayton Area Biblical/ Evangelical Support Group Network. Various Biblical/Evangelical churches and agencies in the Dayton area offer groups for specific life situations, addictions and other issues. Since each church or agency cannot have a group for every issue, there have been mutual referrals among existing support/recovery group leaders. A full listing of these groups can be found here in pdf format.

Encouraging Cards and Sonshine Stampers are comprised of individuals who make and send cards to children and adults who are living with disabilities, illnesses, fatal illnesses, and diseases; those who have joined the church, were newly baptized, or committed their lives to Christ; also to those in nursing homes, jails and prisons, missionaries, and to military everywhere; in addition we send to those who just need to know they are special. The cards are hand-stamped, or computer-generated. Only Christ receives the glory for these cards because all cards are signed "Delivering Christ's Love to you, Encouraging Cards." Prayer is a very important in this ministry. The groups and individuals pray for the recipient when they make the cards, when a request is received, a card selected and when they are mailed.
The Center was founded in 1993, incorporated in 1994, and was recognized as a tax exempt, non-profit, 501(c) corporation in 1995. The purpose of the Center, as found in our mission statement, is: "To provide quality, affordable, professional Christian counseling to the community, regardless of ability to pay". Consistent with this mission, the Center provides thousands of dollars of uncompensated care for the community. This shortfall is offset by donations, support from Ginghamsburg Church, United Way grants, and professional service contracts held by the Center.
The Center has grown over the years to a staff of twelve counselors and six office personnel. who provide secretarial and receptionist help. The use of volunteers helps us to maintain a low cost for our services. The Center is a nonprofit corporation affiliated with, and partially funded by Ginghamsburg Church.
New Creation Counseling Center has licensed professional counselors providing services, supervised by Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors. The Center has affiliation agreements with a psychiatrist, a psychologist, Miami County Recovery Center, and the Miami County Municipal Court for referrals and for provision of services. New Creation Counseling Center is able to accept insurance benefits, but is also able to see people based upon a sliding fee scale.
The counseling center is located at the South Campus, 7695 South County Road 25A. You may schedule an appointment by calling 937.667.4678.
View the New Creation Counseling Center Handbook or the 2005 Annual Report. Also see a description of one of the newest New Creation Counseling Center ministries, the House Arrest/Boundaries Program.
