: Why Marriage?Sunday, May 14 2006
Marriage is so much more than two people co-existing. Inside God’s plan this union paints a portrait of God, points to our greater life-purpose, and promises a great future of hope for generations to come.
Genesis 2:22-24
Reread Genesis 2:22-24.
- What is (or has been) your model of marriage?
Is it a healthy model? Why or why not? - Name a “negative” stage in the first year of your marriage.
- Describe a “dark room” in your marriage/significant relationship that you worked through together.
- How has your spouse or a significant mentor helped you envision or fulfill a life-purpose?
Have you been that kind of source for him or her? - As a child, what “picture” of marriage did your parents paint?
Are you intentionally painting a picture of healthy marriage for future generations? - What steps do you need to take to make your marriage/future marriage a “picture of heaven” on earth?
