Our culture takes promises too lightly; to God, promises are a serious business. The book of James reminds us that promises made are promises to be kept.
James 1:26
- Name a promise you have made that you are working hard to fulfill. Have you made a promise you wish you never made? Explain.
- How do you personally distinguish a good opportunity from a God-opportunity?
- Are you good at saying "no" to people, or do you over commit too easily?
- Describe a time someone didn't follow through on a promise or commitment to you. How did that shape/change your opinion of that person?
- What are some vows you have made to God recently? How are you keeping those vows?
- What commitment/promise do you need to make in order to focus on the walk and have less talk?
