: Dealing with Personal PrejudiceSunday, May 25 2008
James calls us to be people of the Pentecost--not people of prejudice--living together in multicultural community as we demonstrate on Earth the inclusiveness of heaven.
James 2:1-4
- Are you prejudiced in any way? Do you show any kind of favoritism in your daily activities? Explain.
- Name some of Jesus' values that are counter-cultural to this world's values. Which values do you practice and/or struggle with?
- Are there parts of your life such as thoughts, ideas, values that are totally under the authority of Jesus Christ? Are there parts that aren't? What are they?
- Have you ever been a conduit of God's power and resources to people around you? Explain.
- How are you currently fulfilling the two mandates to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick?
- Will you commit to fasting and praying this week for Ginghamsburg Church and for what Jesus will do through you in this community?
