1. a privatized faith
2. relationship w/God = relationship w/people (vs. 3b-4)
  - james 3:9: words that cause harm
  - (vs. 5-7): holy hands vs. helping hands
  - (vs. 8-11): power with God by actions toward people
  - amos 5:21-24>>>modern day Pharisees?

The Gospel of the Kingdom of God
1. repairers of the breach (vs.12)
  - isaiah 61: rebuild ~ restore ~ renew
  - i peter 4:10: all gifts are needed!!!
  - john 7:38: God’s source of life
  - romans 12:1: “offer your bodies...”
2. sabbath (vs. 13-14)
