Questions to go Deeper
In weeks of deepest heartbreak it's easy to feel there's NOTHING we can do to impact the broken world we live in. We completely underestimate how much influence we do have, especially in the lives of those closest around. Let this week’s questions challenge you “to be the change”? Daily devotionals that accompany each day's reading are also available on Facebook. They are created by a great Ginghamsburg unpaid servant team. You do not have to be a Facebook user to access them. MONDAY: Hebrews 12:1-3
Who are the people that are watching you? What example are you living out loud? What example do you want to live?
TUESDAY: Deuteronomy 6:1-9
The Jewish faith is and was focused on passing faith to the next generation. In what ways are you coaching the next generation to follow Jesus? What about your children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews?
WEDNESDAY: Exodus 20:12
For some folk this is one of the most challenging verses in the Bible. How would you describe your relationship with your dad past or present? Write out a prayer for your dad (or your relationship with your dad) asking God to give you the wisdom to know how to honor your parents.
THURSDAY: Acts 6:1-6
Leadership is an important part of faith and life. How and why were these leaders chosen? What evidence of the Holy Spirit do you see in your life? What changes do you need to make in order to experience more of the Spirit’s work?
FRIDAY: Matthew 7:1-5
An important part of leadership is self leadership. Today do an assessment of your leadership—in your home, in your place of employment and in your faith. What “logs” in your eyes do you need to name? How can the people around you (Life Group) hold you accountable to making the changes you need to be the leader God is calling you to be?
SATURDAY: Romans 5:1-5
Perseverance is a patience that masters things. What is challenging your perseverance? What shift in focus do you need to make in order for your hope to last? Ask for God to pour out God’s love and Spirit over your heart and mind.
SUNDAY: Matthew 16:24-27
Jesus is our issue and focus. What distractions keep you from focusing on following Jesus? What shifts are necessary for you to take up your cross and follow Jesus daily?
