Questions to go Deeper

Relationships ain’t easy and no matter where life’s taken you, chances are you’ve been tempted to bail when times got rough. Daily devotionals that accompany each day's reading are also available on Facebook. They are created by a great Ginghamsburg unpaid servant team. You do not have to be a Facebook user to access them. View them here. When the page opens, click the date under NOTES (on the left hand side) to access the full document.

MONDAY: James 1:12
Where do you need perseverance in your life? In your relationships? What is keeping you from “staying through”?

TUESDAY: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
Relationships have seasons. What season is your relationship in: winter, spring, summer or fall. How are you navigating these seasons? What changes do you need to make in this season?

WEDNESDAY: Matthew 19:1-9
Marriage is hard. What excuses did the Pharisees give Jesus when Jesus taught on marriage? What did Jesus say? If you have struggled or are struggling in your marriage relationship, make a commitment to get the help you need either by taking a marriage course this fall or connecting to New Creation Counseling, 937.667.4678.

THURSDAY: Hebrews 12:1-3
We are in the Olympic season. What is your favorite Olympic sport to watch? What is the prize for an Olympic athlete? What are they attempting to achieve? What about the prize (or promise) for a follower of Jesus? What are you attempting to achieve with your life?

FRIDAY: Proverbs 18
Read through Proverbs 18. Listen for key words or phrases; write them down. As you look at these words, what is God attempting to teach you about your relationships? What role do our words play in building up or tearing down significant relationships?

SATURDAY: Luke 15:11-31
What relationships do you have that need reconciled (mended)? What obstacles are keeping you from mending these relationships? Write a prayer to God asking for wisdom and first steps toward reconciliation.

SUNDAY: John 15:9-15
Do you love others? What about Jesus? Do you believe Jesus when the scripture says, “I call you friend”? What does it mean for you to be a friend of Jesus?
