God is LOVE – but what does that really mean in the midst of our own personal drama and cross-cultural breakdown? When we get a right and true picture of God it will transform us. It will determine our values and lifestyle. And ultimately it will empower us to – Love the 937.
MONDAY: 1 John 4:7-12
God is love. Since God first loved us, we can love others. But why do we struggle to love others? Name a person or people group that you are struggling to love. Ask God to help you love that person/people group like God loves that person/people group.
TUESDAY: Genesis 18:16-33
Abraham bargained with God. Have you ever bargained with God? What does this story reveal about God? About us?
WEDNESDAY: Hebrews 2:5-13
Jesus was one of us. Why is it significant that Jesus was totally God and totally human? What does it mean for you?
THURSDAY: Galatians 5:1-6
If we are free in Jesus, why do we focus on our differences? Are you comfortable with people who are different than you? How does verse 6 change your picture of God? Others?
FRIDAY: Matthew 22:1-14
God is the ultimate wedding planner. Who is invited to the wedding reception? What is significant about the guest list? Who decides who is allowed to stay and who has to leave? What does this say about practices of invitation?
SATURDAY: Psalm 107
The Psalms give us pictures of God. What is the picture of God on display in this Psalm? Is this aligned with your picture of God? What does this Psalm say about the character of God?
SUNDAY: John 14:23-31
God is love. And as followers of Jesus, we are empowered to love through the Holy Spirit. What did Jesus say to his followers about love and the Holy Spirit? What does love have to do with obedience?
