Emotions: can't live with 'em - can't live without 'em. Life gets crazy, and we can blow up or bottom out - leaving a wake of destruction in ourselves and others. Don't miss week two of this series about the stewardship of time, emotions and money - and the richness of the life Jesus promised.

Daily devotionals that accompany each day's reading are also available on Facebook. They are created by a great Ginghamsburg unpaid servant team. You do not have to be a Facebook user to access them. MONDAY: Mark 12:28-30
Jesus commands us to love emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. Which of these “loves” is the hardest for you to practice? What keeps you from loving emotionally and spiritually?

TUESDAY: 1 Kings 18:16-46
Elijah experienced the power of God! Have you ever had a positive experience that was also emotionally and spiritually draining? What was it? How did you rest and recover?

WEDNESDAY: 1 Kings 19:1-4
Elijah was on top of the world, but he quickly crashed! Why? What sent him over the edge was Jezebel’s threat. Have you ever had a Jezebel in your life send you over the edge? Did your reaction compare to Elijah’s?

THURSDAY: 1 Kings 19:5-11
God gave Elijah the emotional rest that he needed. Do you need or have you ever needed emotional rest? How did you get the help that you needed? Where did you turn?

FRIDAY: Matthew 11:28-30
Jesus promises to give us rest. Do you need the kind of rest that Jesus describes? Do you trust Jesus to provide you the rest? How?

SATURDAY: Luke 5:15-16
Even Jesus needed me to be silent and in solitude because he was emotionally and spiritually spent. What does “silence and solitude” look like for you? When and where do you have time you spend with God?

SUNDAY: Exodus 34:29-35
Times of silence and solitude change us. Moses spent so much intimate time with God that it changed his face. How has time spent with God changed you? Take an inventory of your day—when can you spend 20 minutes in prayer and reflecting on scripture?
