Tragedy and suffering will invade most all of our lives at some point. And though Evil threatens to snuff out the light, we have a God who, rather than stand at a distance, comes to join us in our brokenness and pain. Join Pastor Mike this weekend as we journey though Advent, rediscovering our call and our challenge-

Daily devotionals that accompany each day's reading are also available on Facebook. They are created by a great Ginghamsburg unpaid servant team. You do not have to be a Facebook user to access them. View them here. When the page opens, click the date under NOTES (on the left hand side) to access the full document.

MONDAY: Matthew 2:13-15
Joseph listened to God when God needed Joseph to listen the most. Are you prepared to listen? How does God speak to you? Are you quiet enough to listen for the voice of God in your life?

TUESDAY: Matthew 2:16-18
Even in the middle of evil there is hope! Where do you see hope in your community or in the world? How can you continue to find spiritual energy in carrying the light of Jesus into the world’s darkness?

WEDNESDAY: Romans 8:31-32
God is on our side! Do you believe God is on your side? Where’s the evidence in your life? Where do you need God to be rooting for you?

THURSDAY: Romans 8:33-34, 37
Followers of Jesus are more than conquerors. God has given you power to overcome the adversity in your life. What adversity do you need to overcome? How can you partner with God to get there?

FRIDAY: Romans 8:35-36
God loves you, period. Nothing can separate us from God’s love. Is there anything attempting to separate you from God’s love in your life? Are you letting it?

SATURDAY: Romans 8:38-39
We are embraced by God. Think about the love of God for a moment. What does God’s love mean for you? For others? For the world?

SUNDAY: Romans 12:17-21 Do good and resist evil! When have you been tempted to repay evil with evil? How is God challenging you to do good in the face of evil in the world?
