REFOCUS QUESTIONS...

Ever get stuck thinking you can't change your circumstances – your life, or even the broken places of the world? This week’s shoreline conversation with Jesus challenges those perceived limitations – making way for bigger miracles than we ever thought possible...

COME TO THE BEACH: Bigger Nets

MONDAY: Luke 5:1-3
Peter met Jesus in the middle of everyday survival. What does your life look like every day? Are you giving Jesus space to meet you? What is keeping you from spending time with Jesus?

TUESDAY: Luke 5:4-5
After fishing all night, Jesus asked Peter to go to deeper waters. Have you ever been too tired to do one more thing for anyone, let alone God? What activity or obligation needs to go in your life so that you can do the thing that God really wants you to do?

WEDNESDAY: Genesis 6:9-22
God loves the water and has used water to save the human race. When you read through Genesis 6 what stands out to you? What do you think God is saying in this story? What is God saying to you about your life?

THURSDAY: Luke 5:6-9
Peter confessed, “I am a sinful man.” Sin keeps us from a healthy relationship with God. Examine your life—what sin is keeping you from a healthy relationship with God? Write out a prayer to God telling God (confessing) your sin. Ask God to forgive you and give you the motivation to make different life choices.

FRIDAY: 2 Timothy 1:7
Name the fear in your life. What do you fear in your community, in this country, throughout the world? What is God’s promise in this scripture? Memorize 2 Timothy 1:7. When you are faced with fear, repeat the words of 2 Timothy 1:7.

SATURDAY: Jonah 1
Sometimes the storms of life have nothing to do with us. Describe Jonah’s experience on the boat. What was he doing? What happened when he told the truth? Is there anything you are running from, or do you need to tell someone the truth? What keeps you from telling the truth to others or God?

SUNDAY: Luke 5:10-11
It is time to follow Jesus. Have you ever left your “boat” to do something for God? Is God asking you to leave something behind so that you can do something for God? Following Jesus cost Peter and the others their entire income. What would it cost you?
