REFOCUS QUESTIONS...

COME TO THE BEACH

MONDAY: Matthew 14:22-32
Peter thought he could walk on water. Have you ever had a point in your life where you felt unsinkable? Did something come along to sink you? How did that experience change you?

TUESDAY: Matthew 23:12
“For those who exalt themselves will be humbled and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” Life in Jesus starts with humility. Do you take pride in your abilities or qualifications? How can you lean on Jesus instead?

WEDNESDAY: John 21:15
Jesus reminded Peter who he was by using his old name. Think back to your old names. How has Jesus renamed you? Make a list of ways you have been renamed and give thanks to God.

THURSDAY: Matthew 26:31-35
“That will never happen, I never will...” Peter told Jesus he would never deny him. How many times have you used “I will never” with someone, or with God? Have you been able to keep your word or have you gone back to your old patterns? What disciplines can you step into to help your “never” become forever?

FRIDAY: Matthew 26:31-35, 69-75, Matthew 16:18-19
What kind of followers do you think Jesus wants and needs? Does Jesus need perfection or submission? Write out your description of what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

SATURDAY: John 21:15-17
Jesus gave Peter a simple command, “Feed my sheep.” Jesus restored Peter despite his betrayal. How has God restored you? Is there someone in your life that needs to hear your restoration story?

SUNDAY: John 21:9-14
Imagine we are at the beach where Jesus has met us, broke bread with us and is about to send us off. Do you have any questions for Jesus? What have you learned? Where is God sending you next?
