Responsibilities:

  • Conveying and living out vision for Family Ministry at Ginghamsburg Church within all events, programs and trainings per area of responsibility.
  • Provide pastoral care and continually recruiting, training and deploying new unpaid leaders for ministry including teens and adults. 
  • Supervision, development and discipleship of leaders within a team-based ministry.
  • Shepherding and equipping leaders with proper resources and providing ongoing coaching.
  • Organizing special events and developing new ministry opportunities for families to learn and grow together in their relationship with the church and Christ.
  • Creating a hospitable environment so that families can best be served from the beginning of their experience with Ginghamsburg Kids. 
  • Assisting in coordination of children’s big events, being a partner in planning, organizing and implementing such events with the ministry team with emphasis on outreach.
  • Assisting in workshop development/teaching at leadership conferences.
  • Works with the Family Ministry staff, both paid and unpaid servant teams, to ensure that children have many opportunities to be discipled through increase in their knowledge of the Lord and deepen their relationship with Jesus.
  • Assists in the discipleship and pastoral care to families and equipping parents to teach faith at home.

Position Requirements:

  • Afternoon and evening hours expected. Regular Clubhouse programming is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 3-6pm. 
  • Breakdown of 40-hour work week is as follows:  6 hours individual intern meetings, 7 hours visiting Clubhouses, 3 hours for TNT meetings and TNT contacts, 3 hours day leader & teen contacts, 3 hours staff meetings, 9 hours planning time for upcoming trainings and session needs, 3 hours networking – schools and agencies, 2 hours contact with parents on child issues, 2 hours adult volunteer contact.
  • Must complete a felony background check and agree to the Teen Integrity Covenant.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the daily activities of three Clubhouse locations ensuring that there is daily, volunteer staffing of two adults, 5-8 teens and 20-30 children, as well as drivers, as needed.
  • Supervise assigned Clubhouse teen interns in accomplishing daily Clubhouse goals and special event roles through weekly one-on-one meetings, stretching them in leadership, faith and healthy lifestyles.
  • Manage by walking around at assigned Clubhouse locations for at least five 30-minute visits per Clubhouse each session giving verbal and written feedback to Interns and Day Leaders.
  • Facilitate monthly Day Leader Institute focusing on biblical leadership and skill training, processing with interns what they have learned through their Clubhouse experiences. Institute is two hours long and goal to have 10 – 12 teens each session.
  • Work with adult staff in designing quarterly training sessions implemented by interns and guest community leaders/teachers.
  • Design June camp leadership training.
  • Develop teen/adult recruitment sources through networking new and supporting existing school and church connections in assigned Clubhouse communities.
  • Oversee quarterly orientation of new volunteers, both teens and adults, gaining adult background checks and teen integrity covenants.
  • Develop and oversee the Teen in Training (TNT) Program, a year-long plan to build the next generation of Clubhouse graduates from grade 6 through graduation.
  • Arrange bridge opportunities for TNT to teen development agencies for future nurturing.
  • Coordinate with partnering governmental agencies providing job readiness employment for teens at Clubhouse during summer months.
