| Major Responsibilities: | Ministry - Support and partner with parents in the spiritual formation of their children, training and equipping them to have discussions with and to teach their children about God’s love for them, what it means to be a follower of Christ, and what it means to be part of a community of faith.
- Develop strong servants and the leadership staff by implementing dynamic recruiting, training, motivating, and support systems that will in turn be able to equip young disciples for the service of Christ.
- Work with and guide the selection of relevant curriculum for weekend and weeknight classes for children that teach biblical principles and truths appropriate for the various developmental levels present.
- Provide leadership for radical hospitality at all times throughout the ministry for new visitors as well as regular attendee children and families.
- Promote growth through cell group ministry for children.
- Create and deploy serving and mission experiences for children and for children with their families.
- Create and nurture a safe sanctuary environment for children and their families where they experience the love of God most powerfully through the relationships they build with one another and with the larger community of faith.
- Work cooperatively with Adult Discipleship to provide classes and learning opportunities for effective parenting.
- Be proactive in researching, reading, and learning about/from other successful children’s and family ministry initiatives across the country.
Management - Direct multi-campus ministry initiatives for children’s and family ministry.
- Make daily ministry and administrative decisions on behalf of children’s and family ministry.
- Supervise a preschool & childcare curriculum, staff and facility within state and local legalities and state accreditation in conjunction with the center’s director.
- Attend weekly discipleship staff meetings to represent children’s and family ministry, and team together with other discipleship directors on church wide discipleship initiatives/designs.
- Oversee the recruiting, hiring, training and evaluation of the children’s and family ministry staff team.
- Ensure all policies in the employee handbook are followed.
- Coordinate with the team to ensure phone calls, emails, etc. for follow up receive a prompt and appropriate response.
- Work with the team to ensure bulletin announcements, newsletters and mailings, purchase orders, and other communication/administrative projects proceed as needed.
- Oversee the department budget process and expenditures.
- Any additional duties as needed or directed pertinent to the position by the Executive Director of Discipleship Ministries.

| Responsible For: | Physical needs of a child. This includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities: - Assisting the child with toilet training including dressing and undressing during toileting.
- Teaching proper hygiene including washing hands after using restroom, before and after snack time, and after activities that involve handling glue or other craft items.
- Providing snacks to the children using proper hygiene including wearing gloves when handling food and placing snacks on napkins or in paper cups.
- Assuring that the tables where snacks are consumed are properly cleaned before and after snacks are served.
Emotional needs of a child. This includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities: - Giving the child appropriate emotional support and attention to assist in the child’s separation from the parent and adjustment to the classroom.
Cognitive needs of a child. This includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities: - Reading stories and singing songs to the child to enhance their listening skills.
- Using storyboards and other items from the Learning Lab to enhance comprehension and visual stimulation.
- Encouraging the use of toys and other objects to enhance eye-hand coordination and fine motor manipulation.
Spiritual needs of a child. This includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities: - Reading Bible stories from age-specific books to foster Biblical knowledge and growth.
