Contagious Faith
Acts 8:1, 4-8 |
 |
When was the last time you caught something? What did you catch - an idea, a ball, a virus...?
Read Acts 8:1-4.
- What event in history propelled the spread of the church?
- How did God use it? What is significant about who God used?
- What similar experience have you had or are you having that God could use to spread the word about Jesus?
Contagious Christians live a life that demonstrates their faith and are also able to share their faith story verbally with others. Read Acts 8:5-13.
- From where does this contagious power come? See also Luke 17:20-21 and Matthew 12:34-37.
- What flows from your heart? Are you making a difference in the lives of those around you? How...a positive difference or a negative difference?
- How could you improve?
God has prepared "divine appointments," people who are open to a word from God, in each of our lives. Read Acts 8:26-40.
- How was the eunuch ready to hear and understand? How did Philip connect with him?
- What opportunities have you had to share your faith? Did you? What happened?
- From the way God sets up opportunities to witness, how does that free you from fears about sharing your faith?
- What could you specifically do to grow in faith so you will be prepared for the opportunities God has prepared for you?
"You can't stop 'em. You can only hope to contain 'em." Dan Patrick, ESPN Sports Center
- Is the power of God so great in you that it cannot be stopped or contained? If not, what specific steps will you take to grow in relationship with God?
Close in prayer, asking God to show you ways to grow close to God. Then consciously allow God's power to contagiously flow through you to those around you..
