Project Status 2008

2008 continues the expansion of the child development and safety program as well as the safe water and sanitation project. In addition, the agricultural program is being expanded into an additional 1700 households during the 2008 growing season.

Project Status 2007

In 2007, the Sudan Project continued the second year of the five-year commitment to children’s safety and development—a project that is expanding to reach 15,000 children. 2007 also marks the first year of a four-year safe water and sanitation project that will result in 15 water yards providing clean, safe water to 219,000 Sudanese children, women and men by project conclusion.

Project Status 2006

2006 began the first of a five-year commitment with Ginghamsburg's partner, the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), to provide education, skills training, protection from slavery and prostitution, and basic healthcare for the same children in Darfur who are being fed by the agricultural project. Project updates from UMCOR in 2006 are available below.
