Bible in One Year
In 2023, the Ginghamsburg Church community is following the Bible in One Year reading plan. Anyone can download the Bible in One Year app and join the discussion in the comments below, or by joining and posting to the ginghamsburg facebook group. The following post is a reflection written by Ginghamsburg Church community member Margie DeHays.
Finding the Good in Everything
Psalm 33:1-11
Wherever you are, whatever you do, whatever the circumstances, find the good in it all from God. God will be faithful to those who trust and believe at all times. Many years ago in the midst of a family trauma, my mind went racing to the ultimate worst for a few hours. Then, the Holy Spirit warmed my soul and reminded me to trust in HIM. In the end, a horrible situation turned into a beautiful long term picture.
Like shells tossed by the violent ocean to take their beautiful form, so too can God redeem our turbulent circumstances.
Reflecting on your own life, when is a time that God flipped something bad for good? Share in the comments below.
Is there something on your heart today that seems too much to carry?
Please share so we can help navigate and find the good.
Finding the good this morning when I couldn’t get back to sleep, allowed me to start the day much earlier and now I feel I am way ahead of the day, which gives me more time freedom! Now that’s GOOD!
Margie… a positive perspective carries a lot of influence, doesn’t it? My spiritual mentor (my high school youth pastor) died of cancer several years ago… but instead of dying in isolation and despair, he went out with a bang by hosting a giant party for all his friends. It was a blessing to know his time was ending. Cancer sucks, but even cancer can be turned into something good if you let God take it.
