2022 Easter | Three Honest Questions Of Faith

Much like the women who stumbled into the tomb that first Easter morning, we all carry so many unfilled expectations. Empty relationships, sweets that don’t satisfy, workaholism that leaves us exhausted—all tombs in our lives. We’ve come searching for answers we can count on in the ways that we know. But doing the same thing over and over – expecting different results – won’t cut it. Time to quit looking for and searching among the dead to find the living, as the women in this story soon discovered. Time to look to new places for life-giving answers. It is possible to live fulfilled this side of heaven. Excitement, curiosity, and hope compel us to see the miracle for ourselves!

From Series: "Passion: The Way of Suffering"

“Passion” is defined as a strong and barely controllable emotion. There’s also a second definition of passion that none of us would choose on our own – the suffering and death of Jesus – thanks, but no thanks! Yet every spring, Jesus-followers throughout the globe set aside time and attention to walk through the season of Lent, replicating Jesus’s sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days. What is it about walking with the suffering Jesus that somehow gifts us with clarity and strength for our own lives? We take a deep dive into the Gospel of Luke chapters 22-23, finding fresh faith and a passion we never knew existed.
